Ashta Dikpala Homam

Vastu Homam

Invoking gods who protect our space on Krishnapaksha Mahapradosham

“Vasthu yagya brings luck

and fortune to your space”

The Vedic texts have described Vasthu shastra as the science of architecture and great rishis of ancient times had formulated certain guidelines for building houses and other constructions. Vasthu is a term used in architecture where it is believed that alignment, directions and designs play a great role in bringing good energies into a building.

Following Vasthu procedures are important as one can live happily with prosperity in their new dwelling or construction. There is also a sense of totality and permanence as the science follows strict directional rules keeping in mind the positive energies of the five elements of nature namely air, water, fire, space and earth. Look at all the pre historic temples that have been built during that time? They have stood the test of time and till date are valued for their antiquity and power of the deities that are housed in them.

Any imbalance in the energies of the five elements causes despair, sorrow and pain and the dwelling becomes inhabitable. So following the rules of Vastu and analysing its pros and cons seems imperative.

Vastu Shanthi homam is a suitable one for those who want to avoid harmful influences in a construction. In addition, this yagna provides solutions for overcoming mental disturbances and helps achieve peace of mind. Also, positive energies are emitted and one gets desired results. When trees are chopped and stones are smashed from the premises, certain negative forces are discharged that may disturb the peace and tranquillity of the place causing hitches to the inhabitants. This yagya helps to keep these negative influences under control. Also, it facilitates removal of malefic effects of the planets and thereby creating a peaceful, powerful and healthy environment.

Purify All Corners Of your Living Space

Ashta dikpalas

The eight gods ruling the eight quarters or the eight zones of the universe are the ashta dikpalakas. It is said that they are the pillars of vaastu shaastra and invoking their blessings is paramount. Indra, Agni, Yama, Niruti, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera and Isana form the eight dikpalakas who are guardian deities of the sky. According to Vedic scriptures, each direction is assigned to a particular god as the chief guardian for ensuring orderliness of the universe.

Ashta dikpala yagna is very powerful for it protects the land or constructions from all eight directions. It appeases the dikpalakas who ensure that no external malefic influence and enemies attack from these directions. It also brings wealth and prosperity and makes certain that peace remains throughout.

Performing vasthu shanthi yagna and ashta dikpala yagna on Krishnapaksha Mahapradosham is very auspicious and has multiple benefits. Pradosham rituals are performed to appease Lord Shiva. Krishna paksha is the waning period of 15 moon days from full moon to new moon and the evening of the trayodashi, thirteenth moon day between 4.30pm to 6.00pm is called Pradosham. It appears once in fifteen moon days. Offering prayers during this time frees us from sins and helps us attain moksha or cycle of birth and death.
