Significance of Vasant Panchami

No wonder, Vasant Panchami is a beautiful occasion. There lies an exciting story behind the festivities of this day. The tales affirm that this was the day when Lord Brahma created the entire universe.

One of the most pivotal legends linked with Vasant Panchami is the story of Lord Brahma and Goddess Saraswati. Lord Brahma was blooming with pleasure after constructing the entire earth. Supreme Brahma determined to catch a glimpse of the planet, so he went there. He was very disappointed after visiting the earth as he found that the earth looked very dull and pale. There was no voice, no chirping and movement on the planet. Lord Brahma started looking for some solution; he took a small amount of water from his instrument called Kamandal and sprinkled the droplets in the air. Then an angel appeared, and she was carrying a harp in her hand. Mighty Brahma asked the angel to grant some voice to the earth and make it more rejuvenating. The angel bestowed the bliss of voice in the universe. The world gained different kinds of voices after the blessings of the angel. Since then, that angel came to be known as Supreme Goddess Saraswati. The goddess of knowledge, power, wisdom, and the one who carries Veena in her hand.
